LÜNO HISTORY & MILESTONES

1950

Furniture workshop founded in Rietberg.
Production of all kinds of high-class furniture, from kitchen to living room. Series production of compact living room cabinets and sideboards quickly becomes the company’s main focus.

1967

Due to increasing competition from large series manufacturers, the company changes tack, becoming a supplier to the furniture industry. It produces cast wooden parts in wood and white finishes: ornaments, carvings, frames...

1972

Company listed in the Rheda-Wiedenbrück commercial register under the legal structure it still maintains today.

1976

The first plans are made for adding veneer-wrapped profiles to the product range. Demand among existing customers is high. The company’s rich experience and love of wood as a material are also seen as good arguments in favor of the decision to make profile wrapping the company’s core business – effective immediately.

1977

The company ships out its first veneer-wrapped profiles.

1982

Production of cast wood parts is discontinued due to a sharp drop in demand. At the same time, the company expands wrapping as its core area of expertise.

1991

Due to the high demand for our production facilities, the production halls are extended 1,700 m² to allow seamless series production.

1999

A fully air-conditioned + humidified hall is built for the Real Wood Veneers department – and our wide range of veneers finds a home.

2000

The turn of the millennium gives cause for celebration: a new admin building and neighboring finished goods warehouse are opened.

2001

LÜNO wraps its first aluminum profiles in veneer.

2005

The company has a workforce of 50 employees.

2011

The first photovoltaic plant is installed. Lüno uses 85% of the power it generates for its own production processes.

2015

LÜNO invests in energy-efficient LED lighting and new air compressors to make the company more energy-efficient – in keeping with its ecological and sustainable approach.

LÜNO receives the PEFC certificate for its use of wood from sustainable forests.

2016

Investments in a new, additional wrapping machine with slot die technology.

2017
